Practical First Aid Courses for Individuals, Business, Community Groups & Families
Most insurance companies require exercise and sports professionals to undertake the full day Emergency First Aid at Work course covering the full HSE Syllabus plus additions, which we will adapt for your sport.

Therapists, sport /performances coaches and personal trainers
What will you learn?
The course covers emergency life support procedures for adults including basic life support, fainting, dealing with pregnant women who have become unwell and common medical conditions. As well as commonly occurring injuries and illnesses in those undertaking exercise.
Learn the essential skills to be able to confidently manage a unconscious casualty
Perform CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation)
Introduction to the use of a defibrillator AED
Recognise and treatment shock including an allergic reaction.
Understand the importance of a defibrillator
Assessment and treatment of a casualty with :
• a heart attack or angina
• who is choking
• a head injury, skull fracture, concussion and compression
• epilepsy and other seizures
• spinal injuries
• a burn, wound or bleed
• injuries- sprains, strains, breaks and dislocations
Treatment of bleeding, grazes, embedded objects, teeth knocked out, nose bleeds, amputated parts,eye injuries, burns including electrical, can be included but requires additional time and increased cost
Accident forms & record keeping
Course length 1 day - 6 hrs
Tutor lead/classroom based.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment by trainer. Certificate valid for 3 years the EFAW course entails practical assessments and a multiple choice answer paper.

The course is delivered in a relaxed environment in small groups to ensure that everyone receives individual attention,. Delivered with a combination of power point presentations, handouts, video and practical sessions which offer hands-on experience using realistic
feedback resuscitation mannequins.
Please note CPR is usually perform on the floor.
Fully regulated EFAW adapted for exercise and sports, please note additional time may be needed to cover all the extra areas.
